Operation on Iker Muniain

Iker Muniain: The player had an operation on the morning of May 7 on the tear of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee at the Hospital Vithas San José in Vitoria.

The arthroscopic surgery, carried out by Dr. Mikel Sanchez and his team, consisted of repairing the injury by means of a double bundle ligamentoplasty and the operation took place without complications. The player will remain at the hospital for 48 hours, after which, if there are no setbacks, he will be discharged and allowed to go home.

Next week he will start a period of functional rehabilitation, which for this type of injury which has been operated on, is estimated at 7-8 months.
