First stadium with LEED certification

The San Mames stadium was the first football field across Europe in achieving LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification, the most internationally renowned one in this field.

LEED assesses the level of sustainability of buildings based on the categories of integration in the landscape, energy and water saving, the use of materials with low environmental impact, indoor environment quality, innovation and design.
