The ninth edition of Bertso Derbia has been celebrated

As an appetizer to the match that will be played on Sunday, March 12 at Anoeta between the Real Sociedad and Athletic Club, the 9th edition of Bertso Derbia was held on March 10, at 19:00, at the Teatro Principal of Donostia.

The Bertso Derbia is an attempt by Athletic Fundazioa and Real Sociedad Fundazioa to claim the healthy rivalry and the atmosphere of shared fun that is generated between both hobbies in the derbies. In this edition Mikel Labaka, former player of the Real Sociedad has been the presenter and in charge of proposing the themes to the six bertsolaris.

On the part of Athletic have taken part Igor Elortza, Arrate Illaro and Jon Maia. On the part of the Real Sociedad Andoni Egaña, Amets Arzallus and Maddalen Arzallus have been the bertsolaris.

As for the institutional representation, Athletic Club have attended the directives Yolanda Lazaro and Izaskun Kortajarena, the manager Javier Aldazabal and Ricardo Mendiguren, director of the Foundation. On the part of the Real Sociedad have attended the adviser Nekane Soria; Andoni Iraola director of the Foundation and Joseba Ibarburu, delegate of the Foundation.

Real Sociedad Fundazioa has organized the IX Edition of Bertso Derbia with the collaboration of Athletic Fundazioa, Donostia Kultura and the Superior Design Cycle IES Usandizaga.

The Bertso Derbia is an activity in which sport and culture are combined with the conviction that, beyond sport rivalry, sport and culture should serve as a link between the two hobbies. In addition, Bertso Derbia is one more expression of the work that both Real Sociedad Fundazioa and Athletic Fundazioa carry out for the normalization of Euskara, while at the same time it serves to deepen the commitment in favor of our language and our culture.

The match day, on Sunday 12, at 11:00, on the surroundings of Anoeta Stadium (at gate 8) there will be a reduced version of Bertso Derbia.
