ESHBI collaboration with Athletic Club

The next course 2017/18 the Superior School of Hostelry of Bilbao will join the ‘Team of Athletic Chefs’ to provide the gastronomic services of San Mames VIP Area on match days.

Athletic Club intends to turn San Mamés into a space that brings together and recognizes chefs, organizations, institutions, producers and schools that have made Bizkaia cuisine a world benchmark.

Since the last two seasons, Biscayans restaurants with Michelin’s stars such as Neru Guggenheim Bilbao, Azurmendi (3 *), Andra Mari, Etxanobe, Zarate, Zortziko and Boroa have been participating in this project, providing gastronomic service on match days in San Mames VIP Area.

The next season the School of Hostelry of Bilbao joins , another of the gastronomic agents that, in addition, forms the professionals of the future. Its teaching staff and students will present a gastronomic offer according to the philosophy of the center and our style of service on match days in the central ring of San Mamés.

A new challenge and a great opportunity for the students of the school that will also allow them to know the particularities of the hospitality service on a match day and will have the opportunity to present to the users the offer designed from the school. The school’s teaching team will select students in the kitchen and classroom based on their attitudinal qualities and their skills and abilities demonstrated in the day-to-day of their formative period. Without a doubt one more motivation to continue creating professionals.

A very special project, with which Athletic Club intends to contribute its grain of sand to the recognition of the gastronomy of Bizkaia, turning San Mamés into a meeting point in the ‘Gune Gastronomiko of Bizkaia’ through a world as different as football . And, in parallel, position San Mamés as a sports venue with a gastronomic approach of international reference.

San Mames VIP Area aspires to be a reference in the world of sport, in which football, passion, hobby and gastronomic excellence are combined, faithful image of what Athletic Club and Bizkaia represent.
