The ladies team at the Teresa Herrera Trophy

Athletic Club’s premier ladies’ team will play the V Teresa Herrera Trophy against Deportivo Abanca on Saturday, August 5.

The Deportivo Abanca was created last summer and this campaign has competed in Second Division, where it finished in second place. It has the best Galician players (there are two international with U19 and U17 Spanish NAtional Team: Nuria Rábano and Tere Abelleira) and two absolute international with Venezuela: Gaby and Kika. The goal of Deportivo this season is to enter playoff promotion to LaLiga Iberdrola. Last year, in the team’s official debut, Depor won the Teresa Herrera Trophy at Villarreal 2-2 (on penalties).

Athletic and Depor Abanca faced the 22 of October of 2016 in the Tournament of the Aurrera in Gasteiz and Athletic won by 2-0.
 
The match will be played before the men’s trophy, the seventy-second edition of Teresa Herrera, the oldest summer tournament, in which Deportivo will face West Bromwich Albion.
