Copa Ahalegina Cup’s sixth edition

Athletic Club’s facilities at Lezama have held on this Saturday 16th June the sixth edition of the Copa Ahalegina Cup. It is a football competition in which are playing teams of the associations in favour of people with mental disability such as Adizmi (Bizkaia), Gorabide (Bizkaia), Fundación Síndrome de Down Foundation (Bizkaia), Apdema (Araba), Atzegi (Gipuzkoa), Antigua Luberri (Gipuzkoa), Gaude (Bizkaia) and Geu Be (Bizkaia). Teams have played each other as a Football 8 Inclusive-Mixed event and it took place between 10am and 3pm. The Copa Ahalegina Cup is organised by the Athletic Club Foundation in collaboration with the associations participating in the tournament. The main objective of this initiative is to promote the inclusion of the people with mental disability, as well as to guarantee their access to sports and active leisure, this way encouraging the sports’ values in a relaxed atmosphere that goes beyond the competition’s results.
