Susaeta will leave Athletic Club on the 30th of June

Markel Susaeta has decided to end his time at Athletic Club as a player and will not renew the contract that expires on the 30th of June. The red-and-white captain, fifth lion in the ranking of matches played (506) in twelve seasons and who joined Lezama in 1997-98, told Athletic last week that he would not study the proposal that the entity offered him to continue next season.

Athletic Club would like to thank him for his professionality and commitment during two decades, in which he has become the lion with more European matches played (75, 8 of them in the Champions League). He adorned his record with the Supercup title in the 2015-16 season. The player intends to make an appearance in the coming days.
