Working the youth academy with Inter, Red Bull and Southampton

Andoni Bombín, Head of Methodology at Lezama, and Lander Hernández, also a member of the Athletic Club, met in Bilbao with Daniele Bernazzani and Roberto Nicolai, representing Internazionale Milano, Sascha Milicevic and Bernhard Seonbuchner, from the Red Bull Football Academy in Salzburg, and Ellis Wilmot and Iain Brunnschweiler, from Southampton FC, to share ideas about methodology and training of players in contemporary football.

The double working day began with an opening talk by Rafael Alkorta and Andoni Ayarza. As Andoni Bombín pointed out at the conclusion of the working group, “the technologies are being implemented more and more and we consider that the Athletic Club has to be at the forefront, optimizing all the resources available to us”.

Also, the representatives of the foreign teams that visited our Club have been delighted with the treatment received and have valued the sport philosophy of Athletic and its ability to feed on players from the youth academy and compete in one of the strongest leagues in the world.
