Maite Oroz’s return

Maite Oroz’s return

After ten months away from the pitch by a serious knee injury, the Navarre player returned last Sunday in the friendly against the Girondins

It has been more than ten months since Maite Oroz suffered a serious knee injury in her anterior cruciate ligament rupture. On September 22, 2018, Athletic Club Femenino faced Atlético de Madrid in Lezama in the third round of the league. That day the season ended to the midfielder red-and-white.

Last Sunday, August 4, in the friendly match played by Athletic Club Femenino against Girondins Bordeaux, Oroz returned to the pitch. She confirmed that she has left the injury behind and played practically the whole match at a great level. As Ángel Villacampa recognised, the player from Huarte will be one of the great reinforcements for the new season.

Maite Oroz relates in the attached video her good sensations in her return to the competition. “Injured time becomes hard because you have to be away from your teammates but you have different goals. I am clear that these ten months have helped me to improve both sports and personal level.
