Athletic Club ladies’ team defeats Soyaux

Athletic Club ladies’ team got the first victory of the preseason and also did it at home. In an afternoon that did not fall below 30 degrees, Fadura was the scene of Angel Villacampa’s first triumph as coach.

The match, as it happened at Matmut Atlantique last Sunday, began with a red-and-white dominance. Angel Villacampa’s side managed to open the scoring in the eighth minute of the match. Lucía García threw a cross, which ended on the right wing with Nekane centering for Yulema Corres, who finished the ball in the back of the net with a goal.

In the 23rd minute a superb left-footed shot by Eunate in a free  kick added the 2-0 on the scoreboard of Fadura. The match has stopped in the 30th minute for the cooling break and Athletic has had a hard time until the referee has decreed the way to changing rooms. The Soyaux has had of consecutive way two throwings to the wood and other two good occasions, one of them very well cleared by Leguina’s feet.

Shortly the lionesses had more opportunities and two minutes after the restart, Azkona took advantage of a failure of the goalkeeper at the exit of a corner kick.

The Soyaux was left with one less after seeing the double yellow his forward Bourgouin. Athletic continued to tighten and thanks to a great play between Maite Oroz and Azkona, the striker managed to put the 4-0. ASJ Soyaux tried to close the gap and found their prize with a goal in the 85th minute.

The pre-season path continues for Athletic Club Femenino with another duel against another French team. The appointment will be next Saturday in Pouzac against Paris FC from 17 hours.
