Athletic Club ladies’ team dreams in Cádiz

The lionesses play tonight a historic semifinal in the Ramón de Carranza Trophy in search of the grand final on Wednesday

Athletic Club ladies’ team is already in Andalusia to compete in the 65th edition of the Ramón de Carranza trophy. After training in the morning on the San Mamés’ turf and after travelling by plane to Seville, the red and white expedition has taken a course to Cádiz to stay at the Hotel Exe Guadalete. There the ones led by Ángel Villacampa will rest until the appointment arrives tonight from 10 pm. The coach from Toledo can count on all the players except the injured Damaris Egurrola and Oihane Hernández.

The Ramón de Carranza stadium will host the first semi-final duel against the CD Tacón from Madrid. For the first time in its 65-year history, the summer tournament will be exclusively female. The lionesses will look for a place in the final on Wednesday.

This morning, in the City Council of Cadiz, has taken place the presentation by tournament institutions side. The vice-secretary, María Tato, and the manager Begoña Castaño have attended the meeting on behalf of Athletic Club together with Joseba Agirre, sports director of the women’s area.

The list for the Ramón de Carranza Trophy is made up of the following 26 players:
