Bilbao Athletic, the most prolific scorer in 50 years

However, the most striking information is their scoring streak, with 18 goals in the first six matches, with an average of three goals per game. With these results, the current team has broken a record set 50 years ago. They have also become the most prolific scorer team compared to the four national main categories, along with Villarreal CF that also scored 18 goals with one more day at LaLiga Santander, the CD Ibiza Pitiusas Islands and the CD Arnedo in the Third Division.

Apart from the 0-0 against CD Calahorra in Lezama, Bilbao Athletic has scored five goals to CA Osasuna Promesas, four to CD Haro and Salamanca CF, three to CD Tudelano, and two to Cultural and Deportiva Leonesa. The top scorer is Sancet with five goals, followed by the four of Morcillo, the three goals scored by of Artola, the two of Vivian and the goals of Tascón, Vencedor, Víctor and the own goal scored by Herrando last weekend.

We would need to go back to 1966 so as to find a similar season in which Bilbao Athletic scored the same goals so far at the season. Nevertheless, those goals were scored in Third Division.
