Supporters’ group Sempre Contigo official inauguration

Athletic Club, despite having a noticeable number of supporters’ groups in the west of Asturias, El Bierzo (León), and in the province of Lugo, has only got the representation of the group Sempre Contigo in Ourense.

Although their setting up dates back to the summer of 2012 -due to “script demands”, the groups’ own needs, and clashes with Athletic’s schedules-, it has not been until 2019 that their official inauguration, with the presence of Board member Goyo Arbizu and his advisor Manolo Delgado Meco, has been possible.

Taking advantage of the celebration of the event this weekend, a Northwest Regional meeting has been held, with the presence of about 70 members from Navia, Ribadeo, Lugo, Arousa, Astorga, León or Ponferrada.

The event opened with the reception of all the people present, who were welcomed by the Provincial Deputation of Ourense. After a walk in the surroundings of the River Miño, followed by a convivial meal, the supporters’ group Sempre Contigo official inauguration took place in their premises at 20 Valle Inclán Street.

Tomorrow, Sunday, the official acts will continue: a regional meeting in Valcárcel Cultural Centre, together with a visit to the historic thermal springs in Ourense, and finally, a meal at a ‘pulpeira’ –a typical place to eat octopus in Galicia– where the supporters will have the chance to follow Athletic Club’s match on TV.
