Updates in Letras y Fútbol

The names of the main protagonists of the literature and football meetings are already known. The meetings will be held from November 11 to 15, on the occasion of the X edition of Letras y Fútbol. Among the guests, the presence of Ferrán Soriano, José Roberto Torero, Juan Pablo Villalobos, Miqui Otero, Aritz Gorrotxategi, Martín Etxeberria, Jon Kortazar, Carlos Ranedo, Laura Mintegi, Santiago Segurola and Jon Rivas should be highlighted.

The presentation ceremony was held in the new venue of San Miguel, the “Biggest Bar in the World”, with the special participation of Oscar de Marcos. The player, accompanied by Galder Reguera, has not only talked about his performance as a red-and-white player, but also as the author of one of the two publications that the Athletic Club Foundation has edited on the occasion of this tenth edition of Letras y Fútbol. It is an autobiographical short book titled “Togo“, written in collaboration with JM Isasi, and that in its pages alternates the narration of relevant episodes of the life of the footballer from Laguardia, from the junior category to his first season as a red-and-white, with the chapters dedicated to the story of a very special trip in his life, happened in the summer of 2010, and that took him to visit Togo, in Africa.

The second publication, “Bizitza eskukadaka”, written in Basque by the head, Ainhoa Tirapu, along with the help of the journalist Miren Rubio Iturria. It brings together the most outstanding experiences of our goalkeeper long trajectory, from her beginnings in Barañain to the present day.

The Athletic Club Foundation has published a sum of 13,000 copies of “Togo” and “Bizitza eskukadaka“. Part of it will be freely distributed in educational centers, on demand (requests to [email protected] ) and for reading at Second High School classrooms. Another part will be distributed in agreed clubs of the Athletic Club, youth category. In addition, both books will be available from 4 November in different bookstores around Bilbao so that anyone can take a copy free of charge. If you wish, you can donate to Athletic Club Foundation, which will allocate all the income to Easy Reading projects in Bizkaia, with the aim of bringing reading closer to those with reading difficulties.

On the other hand, the sessions of the Foundation’s Reading Club will be also held throughout this new season. The sessions will be announced shortly.
