Athletic and Literature at the fourth day at Letras y Fútbol

Today’s meeting will be devoted to Athletic ́s role in literature throughout its history.

Five different authors, but linked to Athletic, will talk today about the Club presence regarding literature. Santiago Segurola (Barakaldo, 1957) is well known for his status as a journalist, with a remarkable record at El País. Laura Mintegi (Lizarra, Navarra, 1955) have not touched football issues in none of her five novels, but she has addressed the topic in briefs and news articles. In addition to football and cycling reports, Jon Rivas (Bilbao, 1959) has written books about Mr. Pentland, Bielsa or Aduriz, amongst others. Carlos Ranedo (Bilbao, 1994) is the author of “Historias de San Mamés” (Stories of San Mames) and “El mejor equipo del mundo” (The world ́s best team). Finally, Kike Martín (Abanto-Zierbena), talk moderator, is a well-known cultural journalist.

Besides, José María Múgica (1935-1993), is one of the most beloved journalists of Athletic history has been will be honoured at the beginning of the session.

About yesterday’s meeting:

Yesterday, Wednesday, different Basque writers attended the session such as Aritz Gorrotxategi, Martin Etxeberria and Jon Kortazar. The previous Reading Club, was based on the book “Una historia de fútbol” (A story about football), by the Brazilian José Roberto Torero. In addition to Mikel San José, a young team of Athletic Club took part as well (watch video attached).
