Raúl García is awarded with the Corazón de León trophy
The Athletic Club de Zalla fan club, is its 25th anniversary, recognised the player of Navarra for his identification with the values represented by the club
Raúl García has received from the Athletic de Zalla fan club the XVI Corazón de León trophy which distinguishes “the players of the first red-and-white team who best identify themselves with the values represented by the club“.
The midfielder from Navarra has been the one who has obtained the most support in a voting carried out among the members of the club. Thus, Raúl takes up the baton of Óscar de Marcos, winner of the last edition. Other emblematic players who have received this award are Julen Guerrero, Carlos Gurpegi, Joseba Etxeberria, Isma Urzaiz, Andoni Iraola, Iker Muniain, Aritz Aduriz, Gorka Iraizoz, Aymeric Laporte or Yeray Álvarez, among others.
The ceremony has taken place in Cafeteria Arlekín, for being the first headquarters of the club, and has consisted of an ‘Aurresku’ (traditional Basque dance) and a small colloquium, in which, among others, have been the player and manager Goyo Arbizu. Athletic will also take part in the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Athletic de Zalla fan club on Saturday. A representation of the club, headed by president Aitor Elizegi, will go to the town to support this club on this special occasion.
