Athletic Club’s manager Gaizka Garitano has valued his side’s victory against Granada CF (2-0), the third one in a row this campaign: “We knew the match was going to be tough, but throughout the season you must be able to adapt yourself to all kind of games. We had to be focused and avoid making mistakes and, in the end, we found our way to the goal. It’s true we lacked the fluency we’ve had on other occasions, but Granada didn’t create many scoring chances either. I think we handled the match well, deservingly winning it.

Garitano has recognised the value of a clean sheet: “It isn’t easy in the First Division. We have worked hard this week on our set-play defense, since Granada was the side who had scored the most goals this season. I really appreciate the work all the players did to prevent them from creating occasions.” Besides, the red-and-white coach has highlighted the incorporation of players such as Yuri, Kodro, or Capa to the list of goalscorers in the last three matchweeks: “I find it essential and I highly value it. The fact that more players are adding their names to the list is very important for the team.”
