“We know what kind of Eibar we’re going to expect”

“We know what kind of Eibar we’re going to expect”

Dani Garcia points out that Saturday’s derby against SD Eibar in San Mames will be a “fairly levelled” match.

After the morning session, the Athletic Club midfielder Dani García has appeared before the media in the press room of the Lezama facilities, in a quite “special” week for him for “facing friends” of  SD Eibar (Saturday, 18.30 hours, San Mamés) where he played between 2012 and 2018, and with whom he got the promotion from the Second Division B to La Liga Santander.

When asked about the defeat against Real Betis Balompié last day, the Zumarraga stated that “whenever you lose you want to come quickly the next game to get rid of that bad taste in your mouth, although it was a hit (Seville) I think we are on the right track, we are on a good run and we do not have to deviate”. Thinking already about the upcoming clash, Dani García has revealed that “Eibar will always play in the same way, ‘Mendi’ does not change anything with respect to the rival, we know the kind of Eibar we are going to face, with the very high pressure, but we have been working to leave that pressure aside, it can be good for us if we have clarity in the game from behind“. He also highlighted what could be one of the strengths of the Guipuzcoans, “one of the most central teams in La Liga; we have to close those centers well and their strikers do not finish clearly.

About the objectives of Athletic Club at the League at the end of the campaign, Dani García has acknowledged that “it is amazing to see yourself every week in Europe. We do not do numbers but calculations in the sense that when Monday arrives we can say that if we win the next match we continue in European positions”. “I’ve never played in Europe and it’s a challenge that I have ahead of me, I would be very excited,” he concluded.
