A derby with a particular flavor

The derby between Athletic and Eibar will be special for five players of the current squad: the manager Gaizka Garitano, their second manager Patxi Ferreira and other players like Ander Capa, Yuri Berchiche and Dani García. All of them share a memorable past at SD Eibar.

Capa, Yuri y Dani Garcia came to Athletic Club for the season 2018-2019. The three of them took part in the promotion of SD Eibar to Second Division during the season 2012-2013 and one year later after the historical promotion, they got their placement at the First Division.

It was Gaizka Garitano indeed, with Patxi Ferreira –since his debut as manager of Gaizka-, the ones that made the promotion to the highest category possible. The manager from Bizkaia, former player of the Eibar, took the team to Second B in his first year in charge of the mentioned team. Two promotions took place in two consecutive years.
