Aterpe Programme and Think Projects get together against Cyberbullying

Through different educational sessions against Cyberbullying, Athletic Club is implementing an initiative launched by students from Askartza Claret Secondary School

The Aterpe Programme, led by Iñaki Alonso at Athletic Club, has acquired a great companion in the form of the ‘Think’ initiative. After Athletic launched their Child Protection programme a few months, a pioneer project called Aterpe, the programme is starting to take on speed and has joined a project that is ideal for the fight against cyberbullying.

Athletic Club's youth teams have already begun to receive talks about cyberbulling and how to deal with it. And they are receiving it from a very special group of speakers, 12 and 13 year old students who have created the 'Think' project.

This initiative emerged as part of the worldwide 'Design For Change' movement, an initiative that seeks to make students the leaders of transformation in the world. Against this backdrop, some 1st year students at Askartza Claret School created this initiative with help from their teacher Izaskun Gutiérrez. The students decided they wanted to do their bit to combat Cyberbulling and designed a logo with the word "Think". Their idea is that when they see inappropriate or offensive comments, the pupil, instead of confronting them, uploads the image. In this way, they become active protagonists and agents of change.
