After two seasons on loan from FC Barcelona, the midfielder from Navarra signs for Athletic Club
Athletic Club and Marta Unzué have closed a deal to hire the football player until June 2022. The midfielder has played on loan from FC Barcelona since last season and is now hired by the red-and-white club. Unzué, who was initially trained at CA Osasuna, belonged no less than twelve seasons to the entity.
Since her arrival in Lezama in August 2018, the player from Berriozar has enjoyed a total of 43 matches, scoring two goals so far. This year, under Angel Villacampa, she took part in all the matches until she got her knee injured in the match held at San Mames against FC Barcelona.
The player brings experience and hierarchy to the field. She is already one of the captains of the line-up. Her family shares sport in their blood, she is the niece of the coach Juan Carlos Unzué and the manager of the cycling team Movistar Team, Eusebio Unzué. In addition, Marta has a twin sister, Elba, with whom she played both in Osasuna and in FC Barcelona.
