Today is a decade since the foundation stone of our current stadium was laid. A very broad and symbolic representation attended this ‘birth’ of San Mamés that took place on May 26, 2010: the top representatives of the five members of the San Mamés Barria Society, footballers of the Athletic Club men’s and women’s teams, red-and-white legends, members, supporters and fans of our entity.
The act consisted of a human chain that transported a piece of grass from the old San Mamés in a transparent box to its placement on the site where our stadium is currently located.
