The lioness will be back to training in June

Our women’s first team are resuming training in small groups in Gazituaga on Monday, 1st June

Despite the Primera Iberdrola will not be completed this season, Athletic Club will be back to work on Monday 1st June. Ángel Villacampa’s side completed their corresponding medical check-ups at IMQ-Medikosta and they are now ready to make contact with the ball again. The training sessions will be held at the local football field in Gazituaga, property of Zamudio Town Council, who is offering their facilities to the Red and Whites.

Training sessions, following the guidelines issued by the Ministry if Health with regard to professional football, will be carried out in very small groups. A progressive training routine is intended to continue during at least three weeks of preparation. As their manager commented in Wednesday’s press conference, going back to training “will help us be in our best shape for the pre-season campaign”. Pending to know the starting date of the league, the lionesses are going back to working out to regain their form ahead of the pre-season of an always demanding Primera Iberdrola and the postponed Copa de la Reina semi-final.
