On June 1, 1930, Athletic lifted our 11th Cup; that same season we also won the League
On this day but in 1930, Athletic Club achieved our Cup number 11. On June 1, 1930, the lions met Real Madrid CF in the final played at Montjuic (Barcelona) and won 3-2. The players led by Mr. Pentland were ahead twice (Unamuno and Iraragorri) and as many times the Madridians tied. It had to be in overtime, in the 115th minute, when Athletic established the final 3-2 thanks to a goal scored by Lafuente.
On their way to the final, our club eliminated Real Racing Club, Real Sociedad, Real Unión Club and FC Barcelona.
That same 1929-30 season, Athletic also lifted the league trophy.
