Luis Enrique has chosen the goalkeeper to take part in the UEFA Nations League matches against Germany and Ukraine
Athletic Club goalkeeper Unai Simón has been called up to the Spanish national team for the first time in his career. Spain coach Luis Enrique has selected the 23-year-old keeper to join up with the squad that will take on Germany and Ukraine in the UEFA Nations League at the beginning of September.
The shot-stopper came to Lezama in 2011-12 and last summer won the UEFA European Under-21 Championship alongside Athletic teammate Unai Nuñez.
Spain take on Germany on September 3 in Stuttgart. The match against Ukraine will take place on September 6 at the Estadio Alfredo di Stefano in Madrid.
