Athletic Club left winger Jon Morcillo expressed mixed emotions about his official first-team debut.
The Lezama graduate made his first LaLiga Santander appearance for Athletic Club in Los Cármenes against Granada CF. Athletic fell to a 2-0 defeat and Morcillo played the entire 90 minutes on Athletic’s left flank.
“It would have been beautiful to debut with a win, but it wasn’t to be,” the youngster said post-match. “We played well in the first half and had chances to score, but in the second half they [Granada] hurt us a lot with those two goals.”
