Athletic Club forward Raúl García was full of praise for the Lions’ performance after they booked their place in this Sunday’s Spanish Super Cup final against FC Barcelona.
The striker put in a star turn, bagging a brace as Athletic beat Real Madrid 1-2 in their Supercopa semi-final clash.
“We came here full of belief,” Raúl said in his post-match press conference. “We had this match down as a day to give this group what they deserve.”
‘Rulo’ was especially proud of the ambition shown by his teammates, adding: “We work hard to defend the identity of this Club, to show what it is we represent.
“We believe we can win the tournament. Regardless of the rival, we know what we’re going for. I’ve always had confidence in this group.”
