The Club has redecorated the team bus with the ‘Bizi Ametsa’ slogan, against a backdrop of Athletic fans cheering on the team
A photograph of Athletic Club fans now adorns the official first-team bus. The image covers the two sides, the front, the back and the roof. In addition, together with Athletic Club’s name, images of the crest and our honours, the ‘Bizi Ametsa’ (Basque for long live the Dream) logo has also been added. It consists of a lion and the Copa trophy, and is visible both on the sides and on the roof.
The bus will get its first miles on the counter as it takes the team down to Madrid for Wednesday’s match against Atlético.
The club and the fans have been dreaming about these two finals for more than a year now. Unfortunately, however, COVID-19 prevented the celebrations from taking place in the stadium during the Copa ties.
We all know that if there were no coronavirus, there would be an almighty party in Seville this April.
In these circumstances, the image of the Athletic fans on the bus symbolises our wishes and reality. The wish that soon the team and fans will be together again in the ground. And the reality, even if it is in spirit only, is that the fans travel with Athletic, because they’re always out our side and even more so in these difficult times.
