Marcelino García Toral praised the attitude shown by the Athletic Club players in their dramatic 0-1 win over LaLiga Santander title challengers Sevilla FC.

The Lions bring home all three points after Iñaki Williams finished off a rapid Athletic counter-attack in the 90th minute at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán.

“I’m extremely happy for every single player in this squad,” Marcelino said during his post-match press conference.

“They deserved to win, they give it everything they’ve got in every match.”

The Gaffer continued: “We’ve beaten a very good opponent. They are hard to beat and play good football, when it comes to that the table doesn’t lie.

“We played very well, made few mistake and were more accurate than them.

“There is a lot to be said for the competitive level shown by these players since the April finals. You can’t doubt the professionalism and work of this group.”
