Unai Simón called up to Spain squad for European Championship

Athletic Club goalkeeper Unai Simón has been named in the Spanish national team squad for the upcoming European Championship.

The shotstopper made 37 appearances in LaLiga this season. He also made four appearances in the Copa del Rey and lined up in both matches in Athletic’s Super Cup triumph.

This will be Simón’s first involvement at a major international tournament and he will meet up with the rest of his teammates on Monday, May 31.

Euro 2020, postponed from last year due to the pandemic, is set to run from June 11 until July 11 and will take places in different countries across the continent.
