Most goals in a season for Lucía García

Lucía García has become Athletic Club Women’s attacking focal point. With a total of 16 goals in the 2020-21 season, the striker beat her previous season best, which she achieved in her debut campaign back in 2016-17.

Her great eye for goal saw her finish the 2020-21 season as the Primera Iberdrola’s fifth top scorer, tied on goals with Asllani (Real Madrid). The striker was also called up to the Spanish senior squad for the UEFA European Championship qualifiers against Azerbaijan and Poland.

At just 22 years old and having played five seasons for Lionesses, Lucía has already scored a total of 51 goals, allowing her to enter Athletic Club Women’s top-10 goalscorers in 10th position. Two goals ahead of her is Arrate Orueta (53), while Eba Ferreira (55) is four ahead.

Her teammate Yulema Corres is seventh with 62 goals and her current coach Iraia Iturregi is sixth with 64 goals. The top five is completed by Gurutze Fernández (89), Irune Murua (106), Eli Ibarra (111) and current teammates Nekane Díez (158) and Erika Vázquez (261).
