The Williams brothers’ dream comes true

Nico Williams played his first minutes with the first team in an official fixture against Real Valladolid in LaLiga 2020-21, becoming the 627th Lion to make his debut for Athletic Club. In that same match at San Mamés, the young debutant played alongside his brother Iñaki, sharing Athletic’s attacking line in the final stretch of the clash. It had been 35 years since two brothers had last played together for Athletic in the same match, with Patxi and Julio Salinas lining up together at the Vicente Calderón on 20 April 1986.
