The Athletic players have been selected by Luis Enrique for next month’s World Cup 2022 qualifiers
Athletic Club goalkeeper Unai Simón and centre-back Iñigo Martínez have been named in Luis Enrique’s Spain squad for the upcoming World Cup 2022 qualifying fixtures.
There will be three matches in total. The first sees the Spanish national team take on Sweden in Stockholm on Thursday September 2, the following Sunday they’ll face Georgia in Badajoz, and then they’ll play Kosovo in Pristina on Wednesday September 8.
The selected players will join up with the rest of the Spain travelling party on August 30.
