Yuri Berchiche renews deal

Yuri Berchiche has put pen to paper on a contract extension which will keep him at Athletic Club until June 30, 2024. Furthermore, it does not contain a release clause.

Yuri joined Athletic from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2018 and his previous deal was set to expire at the end of the current campaign.

“I want to thank the Club and the fans,” Yuri said about his extending his stay at Athletic. “From the very first moment, I’ve felt very much loved. I’m very happy to be able to extend my contract for another two years. I feel at home, and we’ve still got some unfinished business.”

The left-back has made 106 appearances for the Lions, scoring nine goals. It was his strike against Granada CF in the second-leg of the 2019-20 Copa Del Rey semi-final that saw Athletic progress to the final.
