Raúl García moves into LaLiga’s Top 5 appearance makers

Athletic Club forward Raúl García continues to break records. With his involvement in Sunday night’s clash against FC Barcelona at the Camp Nou, his 543rd match, the striker has moved into LaLiga’s Top 5 all-time appearance makers.

Raúl has overtaken former Real Madrid goalkeeper Paco Buyo and moves level with ex-Barcelona and Real Valladolid players Eusebio Sacristán.

Raúl García, 35, is already one of the biggest names in LaLiga, and along with Real Betis’ Joaquín, he is the only active player among this group of historic footballers. The veteran Lion has played a total of 226 games for Athletic Club. Before joining Los Rojiblancos, he turned out 101 times for Osasuna and 216 for Atlético Madrid.

The no.22 has found the back of the net 60 times since arriving at Athletic in 2015, becoming an important cog in the Lions’ attack.
