Athletic Club unveil 2022/23 home kit

Athletic Club and New Balance have revealed our new home kit for the 2022/23 season. The red-and-white strip is now available for purchase online and in the Club’s retail outlets.

It is a design inspired by the beauty of tradition, with Athletic’s iconic red and white stripes taking centre stage. They come accompanied by a classic stand-up collar and black-cuffed sleeves, while the shirt also sports exclusive New Balance detailing and the Ikurriña on the back of the neck.

Traditional black shorts and matching knitted socks with a red stripe down the side round off this season’s home kit.

The goalkeeper jersey comes in the trademark black and has been developed in line with the outfield players’ tops.

The 2022/23 home kit release is part of New Balance’s “Born, Bred, Basque” campaign for Athletic Club, celebrating the family, philosophy and culture that the entire Athleticzale community holds so dear.

Athletic Club striker Iñaki Williams noted how the new home strip’s “classic design celebrates our great history”.

He added: “The new jersey is great. It means a lot to the people here to see us proudly wear the red and white of Athletic Club, so I am certain the fans will love the design as much as we do.”

Kenny McCallum, General Manager of New Balance Football, acknowledged the role played by Athletic’s unique philosophy when it came to producing the 22/23 jersey.

“There are no other clubs in the world with the tradition and philosophy of Athletic Club,” He said. “This year’s design is heavily influenced by that legacy and begins a strong collection for the Club’s 22/23 season.”

New Balance Football has incorporated cutting-edge design technology into all 2022/23 jerseys to ensure superior performance. They feature innovative NB Dry technology to help keep players cool and dry from the first to the last minute of the game.

Furthermore, the Elite version includes a jacquard ventilation system that provides extra comfort and breathability on the pitch.
