Jokin Ezkieta leaves Athletic Club

Athletic Club and goalkeeper Jokin Ezkieta have reached an agreement to terminate the remaining year of his contract. The goalkeeper from Navarre thus ends his time at the Red-and-White club, which he joined in the 2019/20 season from FC Barcelona. The Club reserves a buy-back option on the player.

Ezkieta has spent three seasons in and around the first team, although the first campaign he made 26 appearances for Bilbao Athletic, with whom he reached the play-offs. He made his debut as a Lion that same year, coming on as a fifth-minute substitute in a Copa tie against CD Tenerife, giving a decisive performance which helped the Athletic win on penalties.

In the second season, his last senior appearances came against UD Ibiza and CD Alcoyano in the Copa del Rey, and against Elche in LaLiga.

Athletic Club wishes Jokin Ezkieta all the best of luck in his future professional career, and at the same time is deeply grateful for his dedication and devotion he has shown the Club during his time in Bilbao.
