AC Museum celebrates fifth anniversary with record number of visitors this summer

The AC Museum was officially inaugurated on 31 August 2017, opening its doors to the public on September 1

The number of people visiting the AC Museum keeps growing every year. Over the last two months (July and August), 33,124 people have enjoyed the Museum and Tour. This is a record summer in terms of number of visitors, with an increase of 30.59% compared to the same period last year, the previous record for visits.

Since its inauguration five years ago, the Museum has received 361,748 visits, 30.14% of which have come from Biscay, 48.14% from the rest of Spain (residents from all provinces have visited the Museum) and 21.72% from another 144 countries out of the 193 recognised by the UN.

For 92.58% of those surveyed, they rated their day at the AC Museum and the San Mamés Tour as either good or very good.

This assessment was shared by the jury at the EMYA (European Museum of the Year Award), which named AC Museum as a finalist in the 2020 European Museum of the Year awards.

The number of activities offered by the Museum has also grown, such as temporary exhibitions or the educational programme for Biscay's school children, all of which bring the Club's heritage and values closer to locals and non-locals alike.
