Muniain joins Athletic Club's top-five all-time appearances makers

With his involvement in Saturday night's match against Atlético Madrid, Iker Muniain has gone above legendary player Markel Susaeta in Athletic Club's all-time appearance makers list.

The clash with Los Colchoneros is the current captain's 508th appearances in the Athletic strip. So far he has played 393 matches in LaLiga, 50 in the Copa del Rey, four in the Spanish Super Cup, 54 in Europa League and seven in the Champions League.

The playmaker is moving ever closer to the historical podium, he is now two games behind Andoni Iraola (510) and six within reach of Joseba Etxeberria (514), who occupies the third step. The '10' could reach those figures this season.
