The legendary Athletic captain described Txetxu as being "elegant in every way".
"Txetxu Rojo was a gentleman of football," said former Athletic player Dani Ruiz Bazán about his teammate and friend. "He is an icon, one of those players who has shaped this great Athletic family.
"One of the Club's greats. When people talk about Athletic, they always mention legendary players like Iribar, Gainza... I think Txetxu is on the same level as them."
Dani singled out Txetxu's humanity, while calling the no.11 "a phenomenom" on the pitch. He said: "I place human values above sporting ones. Sports wise, he was incredible. But he was an even better person. He was an extraordinary player who made the difference in every sense."
