Athletic Club Women player Clara Pinedo has put pen to paper on a new three-year contract which also includes a one-season extension clause.
The playmaker arrived at Lezama from Bizkerre FT ahead of the 2019/20 campaign and has made spectacular progress, quickly becoming one of Iraia Iturregi's key players. So far this season she has scored four goals in Liga F and one in the Copa, one that earned the Lionesses a place in the quarter-finals against Madrid CFF.
Her debut as a Lioness came on 6 June 2021 against Levante UD in Buñol. In the following season, she alternated between the reserve team and the first team, scored her first senior goal against Villarreal CF on March 26. Last summer, she was promoted for good and has already played more than 1,200 minutes in 19 games, becoming top goalscorer alongside Jone Amezaga.
Last year, as well as achieving a well-deserved breakthrough into the first team, Pinedo won the Under-19 European Championship and the Under-20 World Cup with the Spanish national team. An impressive double shared with teammates Ane Elexpuru and Maite Zubieta. In addition, she has turned out for the Under-23s, with whom she played two matches during the recent international break.
