Athletic's 2024/25 away kit is now on sale!

Athletic Club and Castore have released the Lions' 2024/25 away kit. It is now available for purchase in our retail outlets and online store.

Next season's away kit is inspired by the blue-and-white designs that have characterised Athletic throughout our long history. Those were our first colours until switching to red and white in 1910. 

Blue strips were established as the team's official away uniform in 1969 and were used continuously until 1995.

In the 2024/25 edition, 'Bilbao blue', also known as 'Gabarra blue', predominates on a v-neck jersey with a white colour. The shirt has a subtle dynamic print on the front and a Basque flag in the shape of a Lion’s head on the back, a nod to a club that is 100 percent 'Made In Euskal Herria'. 

This kit also comes with white shorts and white socks.

The shirt design evokes Bilbao's River Nervión. A symbol for the city and club, it's the place where Athletic players celebrate their greatest triumphs aboard the renowned 'Gabarra', just as they did this past April 11.

Furthermore, the goalkeepers' second kit will be an orange jersey, a colour  Athletic Club's shotstoppers have worn several times throughout the 21st century.

An iconic away kit

In addition to many other match, this style of strip was most famously present during the first leg of our 1977 UEFA Cup final and our famous victory over Newcastle United at San Mames in the autumn of 1994.

Over the last three decades, Athletic Club has used similar blue kits on various occasions, including the special commemorative jersey designed by Castore for our 125th anniversary.

In short, it’s a classic and unmistakeable part of the club’s history.
