Ander Herrera extends his contract with Athletic Club
The midfielder renews his contract for a further season, which will be his sixth between two spells as a Lion
Athletic Club midfielder Ander Herrera has signed a one-year contract extension, keeping him in Bilbao until 30 June 2025.
The Copa winner put pen to paper on his new deal at Ibaigane , along with club president Jon Uriarte and director of football Mikel González.
Next season will be Ander's sixth as a Lion, between both his spells here. His experience and talent will be fundamental during a campaign in which Ernesto Valverde's side will compete in four tournaments.
The Bilbao-born player has made 175 appearances for Athletic, 27 coming in 2023/24. Besides his influence in the dressing room, the midfielder showed touches of his enormous class last season.
For example, in December's 125th anniversary match, against Atlético Madrid, Herrera set up Gorka Guruzeta with a measured assist for the first goal in our 2-0 win.
During the Matchday 19 fixture with Sevilla FC at the Sánchez Pizjuán, Ander floated in a wonderful cross for Aitor Paredes to score his first senior goal.
Herrera's contract falls in line with the new guidelines set down by the club and features a fixed salary structure with bonuses based on objectives.
