The left-back leaves for the Czech champions in a deal with a fixed price, a bonus clause and an for Athletic option to buy back the player
Athletic Club and Sparta Prague have reached an agreement for the transfer of left-back Imanol García de Albeniz, who trained at Lezama for the last time this past Saturday before joining the Czech Republic champions.
The deal includes a fixed fee plus bonuses, a percentage of any future sale and an option of first refusal to re-sign the player.
Imanol, 24, leaves Athletic Club as a Copa winner, having made ten appearances in the year of his first-team debut after loans at CD Mirandés and SD Eibar. The defender came through the youth ranks at Lezama and went on to complete two seasons at Bilbao Athletic, making 47 appearances and going out on loan to LaLiga Hypermotion.
Athletic Club wishes Imanol all the best of luck in his future professional career, and at the same time is deeply grateful for the dedication and devotion he has shown in defending the Club's interests during all these years.
