Alex Padilla moves on loan to Mexican side Pumas
The initial agreement is for six months, but Athletic Club or Pumas can trigger a clause to extend it for another year, until 30 June 2026.
Athletic Club goalkeeper Alex Padilla will spend the rest of the season on loan at at Mexican outfit Club Universidad Nacional, also known as Pumas.
The agreement includes a clause in which both teams can extend the loan for a further year, until 30 June 2026. It also contains an optional purchase clause for Pumas and a buy-back option for Athletic.
Padilla, who is of Mexican descent on his mother's side, recently extended his contract with the Lions until 2029 and has made five first-team appearances under Ernesto Valverde this season.
The 21-year-old shotstopper is currently in Mexico City, where he's already undergone a medical and officially signing his temporary contract with Pumas.
