San Mames stadium guide: Athletic Club vs AS Roma (R.16 2nd leg)

Important information for anybody coming to Bilbao to watch Thursday's Europa League match at San Mames

*All times are CET.

This Thursday at 18:45, San Mames hosts the Europa League round of 16 second leg between Athletic Club and AS Roma. Below there is some useful information for all those coming to Bilbao to watch the match at The Cathedral.

 

STADIUM ACCESS

The gates will open at 17:15. Please try to arrive ahead of time so you can speed up your entry into the stadium, avoid last-minute crowds and enjoy the start of the match. 

Members must present the following documents to enter the San Mamés stadium:

A membership card (physical or digital) for Club Members who have purchased online their Europa League round of 16 pass. 

A physical ticket for those Members who have purchased the Europa League round of 16 pass at the San Mames ticket office.

Individuals who have purchased a single ticket for this match (Members, Gazte Abonoa, General Public) must show their ticket at the San Mames turnstiles.

 

MEMBERSHIP CARD TRANSFERS

For this match only, Members who have already activated their membership card will only be able to transfer their seat to another Athleticzale via the Members' Txoko on the website (there will be no transfers through the official app).

The deadline for transfers for this match is Wednesday 12 March at 23:59 CET. The recipients of the transfer will receive a stadium access ticket in PDF format by email on the morning of Thursday 13 March (up to 4 hours before the match).

 

TICKET SALES

The San Mamés ticket office, located between Gates 6 & 7 at the stadium, will be open during the following times but only to attend to queries and deal with ticket allocations for Fan Clubs :

  • Thursday, March 13: from 16:45 until kick-off.

Tickets will be available online right up until kick-off.

SAN MAMES SHOP

The official shop (located between Gates 26 and 0 at San Mames) will be open non-stop from 10:00 until 21:30.

Don't forget, you can also place orders at the Athletic Club online shop.  

 

BARS & RESTAURANTS

You can enjoy a wide range of products at the food and drink stands (called Poza bars) throughout the stadium. You can place orders at the Online Bar up to 24 hours before kick-off. Pay online and pick up your food at an assigned stand while avoiding the half-time queues.

Come to Geuria!, the sportsbar located next to Gate 13 at San Mames. From 18:30 until 00:00, you can enjoy a wide and varied menu at The Cathedral’s in-built bar while watching the game on giant screens. There will be a special Matchday menu available.

Bar La Campa de los Ingleses will be open from 09:30 until 18:00, while Restaurant San Mames Jatetxea is open from 13:00 to 15:30.

 

AC MUSEUM & SAN MAMES TOUR

You can visit the Athletic Club Museum (next to Gate 20) from 10:00 until 19:00. However, the San Mames Tour is only available until 11:15. From 11:15 until 19:00, guests can only visit the museum.

On matchday there will be no San Mames Stadium tours available, while the Athletic Club Museum (next to Gate 20) is open until 16:45.
