Athletic win first 'final' at huge San Mames
The Lions reach the quarter-finals with a great brace from Nico Williams and an expert header from Yuri against an AS Roma side that paid for Hummels' red card

Athletic Club are through to the Europa League quarter-finals after overcoming AS Roma at San Mamés.
The players and fans worked togehter to defeat Claudio Ranieri's mighty AS Roma, a side that had not lost since December.
The 3-1 win, reversing a 2-1 first leg scoreline, was built around an early Mat Hummels sending-off for a foul on Maroan. It took patience to break the Italians down, but with Nico Williams on your side, everything is a bit easier.
The Zurigorri genius opened and closed the scoring with a well-timed finish at the far post and a bit of magic, the kind of move kids like to do with the Play Station controller.
Yuri scored our second with a bullet header. Leandro Paredes' late penalty in stoppage time was nothing but a consolation.
This Athletic side has hunger, belief and style. And that's how they overwhelmed Roma, who could hardly breathe under the Lions' intense pressing.
All was made slightly smoother after Mats Hummels' dismissal in the 10th minute. The German centre-back was sent off after bringing down Maroan while running back towards his own goal.
Then another game began. Maroan missed a clear one-on-one and Nico struck the post with a great effort as the San Mames crowd, a true no.12 on the night, sang for a first goal.
Mile Svilar seemed like a brick wall as he denied Maroan and Aitor Paredes. But then the key moment arrived. Just before the half-time whistle, Iñaki Williams put a ball into the box, Maroan nodded it on and Nico finished at the back post.
The 1-0 lead gave Athletic a huge boost. However, the Lions remained paitient, knowing the Italian side would look to take their chances on the counter or from a set-piece.
Eidor Shomurodov forced Julen Agirrezabala to turn the ball behind for a corner. Not long after, Alex Berenguer drove into the Roma box and Svilar made the save of the night to thwart our winger.
Athletic took the aggregate lead from a Berenguer corner. In the 67th minute, Yuri Berchiche netted a beautiful header at the near post to send San Mames into raptures.
There was still a long way to go, but Athletic, with a colossal Unai Núñez in defence accompanied first by Paredes and then by Lekue, held out to stop Roma from finding a way back into the game.
The third was not long in waiting. Yuri made an explosive run down the left and connected with Nico, who dribbled his way into the box and finished past Svilar to all but seal our place in the quarters.
Leandro Paredes converted from the spot after a foul on El Shaarawy, but it was too little to late for the Romans.
The celebrations at San Mames were iconic. The quarter-final legs against Rangers FC, on April 10 and 17, will begin with an away trip,
