Athletic Club sign Jesús Areso

Athletic Club and CA Osasuna have reached an agreement for the transfer of Jesús Areso, with the full-back signing a contract until 30 June 2031. 

The defender returns to Athletic in fine form after some solid performances for CA Osasuna's first team, bagging 11 assists and one goal in 86 official appearances.

Areso, 26, began his youth career at Aluvión, an Athletic affiliated club. He arrived to Lezama at under-18 level and played 52 matches for Bilbao Athletic. In the 2021/22 season, he returned to Osasuna, being first loaned to Burgos CF before breaking into the senior side at El Sadar.

The right-back, who stands out for his stamina and marauding runs down the flank, will join up with Ernesto Valverde's squad immediately. 

Areso's offical presentation press conference will take place at San Mames on Wednesday afternoon at 13:30 CEST.
