Terzić: “I have a lot of confidence in what we are doing”

Edin Terzić spoke to the media at Lezama ahead of Athletic Club's clash with Elche CF at San Mamés this Saturday. The head coach expressed his satisfaction with the team's progress and stressed discipline and daily work as the foundations for continued growth.

“If we are disciplined every day, at Lezama and at San Mamés, everything will be fine. I have a lot of confidence in what we are doing. It is what we work on in every training session and every match. The most important thing is discipline,” he said.

Terzić also assessed Iñaki Williams' recent form and the different positions he can play: “Iñaki has played a lot on the wing and as a second striker. Now we use him wherever we need him. I see him playing with more confidence, making good decisions, playing good passes and providing assists.”

The coach particularly praised the forward's willingness to adapt: “I don't mind where he plays. He knows he has to play with great responsibility in every position. I'm very happy with his attitude.”

Asked about the academy, Terzić once again highlighted the work being done at Lezama and the coordination with the Club's youth teams. “Lezama is the future. I'm responsible for the present, but I'm always focused on building a great future,” he said.

“We have a great relationship with the academy coaches and players. It's important that we train at the same time, and that allows us to vary which players come and train with us,” he added.

The head coach also thanked the fans for their support in recent matches: “I've felt a great atmosphere after the last few games. We're grateful for the way they've supported us and hopefully we can give them more reasons to stay fully behind us. We promise we'll give our best to keep making them happy.”

Terzić also had a few words for Justo Izaguirre, Athletic Club's number one member, who recently passed away: “Hopefully we can make tomorrow's match special for him.”

Finally, Terzić spoke about how he feels at Athletic: “I'm very happy here. As a coach, it's not just about feeling happy, it's also about feeling fulfilled, and that's how I feel here. We've found a great place to work, live and create. We want to create unique moments and keep this energy we're feeling growing,” he concluded.
