The player from Navarre arrived at Athletic from Villarreal as a 15-year-old. Predominantly a left-winger, but capable of playing on the right and through the middle, Nico has a cultured left-footed, likes to run at his marker and is instinctive in the opponent's area.

He got his first taste of LaLiga action last season, splitting his time between the senior team and Bilbao Athletic. Serrano also scored his first goal as a Lion in 2021-22, hitting a wonderful volley to give Athletic victory over Rayo Vallecano at Vallecas.
 
Still just 19 years old, Nico is a big prospect at Lezama. He's also making a name for himself at an international level, scoring many goals at the different age groups for Spain.
